ABA Therapy Intake Assessment
Direct observation of the child will also be conducted. During the observation the TCMC team will assess the level of skills and competencies in tasks, activities, and situations, along with behavioral difficulties of your child. Data gathered from Parent/Guardian interviews and direct observation helps the BCBA in developing therapy goals and treatment recommendations.
Functional Behaviour Assessment
At TCMC, we utilize the Core Skills Assessment (CSA) and/or Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment Placement Program (VB-MAPP) depending on the need of the child. The CSA focuses on the foundational and overall basic developmental skills that every child must acquire. The VB-MAPP goes more in depth on assessing verbal behavior and every developmental skill.AT TCMC we believe in early childhood intervention, continuous child supervision, progress analysis, and working closely with parents to ensure every child receives the positive behavior changes required for their success.
Program Design and Implementation
After conducting the assessment, the TCMC team meets with parents and develops a plan that takes the parents’ needs and valid goals into consideration.
In TCMC, we use an ABA Software System known as ACE (Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia) to assess, teach, design and evaluate the progress of a child, using evidence-based procedures. We teach basic and advanced skills from different skill domain areas to the child. These include – communication, discrimination, social skills, academic skills, self-help skills, health and safety, recreation, and physical education. At TCMC we believe that ongoing communication and collaboration with parents, other healthcare professionals and educators are crucial to ensure an effective treatment plan. Programs are implemented by our team of RBT’s (registered behaviour technicians (RBT) who are supervised thoroughly by a BCBA. Most of her therapist have a master’s degree in ABA or psychology. Program review is done frequently. An official parents’ meeting and a written report is conducted every three months.
At TCMC, we offer school support by providing an initial daycare or school setting observation, conducting the appropriate assessments, and helping the IEP team develop the best possible treatment plan and services for each student. Additionally, we provide regular observation to make sure that the programs are implemented correctly and adjust goals accordingly. We target empowering teachers/ teacher assistants by training them on how to apply different ABA treatments and techniques according to their students’ needs.
