Dr. Kathrin Foehe is a graduate from the Free University of Berlin in Germany. During her training she completed Pediatric electives in Cordoba, Argentina, and New Orleans, USA. She completed her residency in Pediatrics and Youth Medicine at the University Hospital Magdeburg, Hamburg and Neumünster, Germany. Her postgraduate qualifications include a Diploma in Travel and Tropical Medicine and Pediatric Ultrasound.
Dr. Kathrin worked in Pediatric hospitals in several countries such as Germany, U.S.A., U.K., Argentina and Brazil. She moved to the UAE in 2008 providing Pediatric care at the the French Clinic and the German Clinic in Dubai Healthcare City. In 2012 she joined The Children’s Medical Centre.
Dr. Kathrin is a Specialist Pediatrician with particular expertise in neonatology, pulmonology, dermatology, the treatment of allergies and preventive medicine. Her special interests are tropical diseases and dermatology as well as travel medicine.
Dr. Kathrin has authored several papers on neonatology in peer reviewed journals and is member of the German Society of Pediatrics and Youth Medicine.
Dr. Michael Vohrer graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the University Homburg/Saar, Germany.
He started his residency from 1996 to 2000 in the Department for Pediatric Orthopedics at the Seepark Klinik/ Langen-Debstedt near Bremerhaven,Germany.
Following two years residency in the Department of Traumatology, Hand Surgery, Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery at the Diakoniekrankenhaus Schwäbisch Hall,Germany he continued his work at the Orthopedic University Hospital Mainz, Germany from 2002 to 2004. Here he established a Ponseti clubfoot clinic, built up the pediatric hip screening and focused on Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery besides his work in general Orthopedics and foot surgery.
In 2007 Dr. Michael was appointed consultant for Pediatric Orthopedics and foot surgery at the Department for Orthopedics and Traumatology – Pediatric Orthopedics, Disabled Surgery and Foot Surgery at the University Hospital Freiburg, Germany. Dr Michael Vohrer worked at American Hospital Dubai – Department for Pediatric Orthopedics and Foot Surgery from April 2013 to September 2014.
In October 2014 Dr. Michael joined The Children’s Medical Centre, Dubai.
In addition to his medical activities Dr. Michael Vohrer was instructor and lecturer for pediatric orthopedic at the University Hospital Mainz and Freiburg and at several Nursing and Physiotherapy schools in Debstedt/ Bremerhaven, Mainz and Freiburg, Germany.
Dr. Michael Vohrer has excellent expertise in pediatric orthopedic diseases prophylaxis, conservative as well as surgical treatment with different operative techniques. He has extensive experience in treating numerous pediatric orthopedic and foot conditions with orthotics and prosthesis.
Dr. Michael is member of the German Society for Pediatric Orthopedics, Vereinigung für Kinderorthopädie VKO(DGOOC/DGOU) and the Middle East Pediatric Orthopedic Society MEPOS. Dr Michael regularly presents papers at international meetings in Europe and the UAE and has organized numerous meetings and workshops throughout Europe and UAE.
Dr. Sima Delghandi is a graduate from the Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany.
During her training she worked in several hospitals throughout the Ruhr area of Germany. Marien Hospital Witten; Gemeinschafts Hospital Herdecke and Marien Hospital in Schwerte. Dr Sima is an absolvent of the Ärztekammer in Münster, where she achieved her Facharzt degree in 1994.
Dr. Sima relocated to the UAE in 2006, and started in Dubai at the Emirates Hospital in Jumeirah and Medwin Medical Center. Now, she joined The Children’s Medical Centre.
Dr Sima along with other Doctors, established an organization for awareness and the treatment of endometriosis disease, called Emirates Endometriosis League (EMEL).
Dr. Sima offers both obstetrics and gynecological services. Obstetrics that provide care for pregnant women and deliveries. Gynecological issues providing medical advice and treatment concerning women’s reproductive system and advanced surgical procedures using laparoscopic surgery.
Dr Sima is a member of the German Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Sanja Mulabegovic graduated in 1995 from Novi Sad Medical University in the former Yugoslavia. Over the last 14 years she has gained a wealth of experience in managing a wide range of pediatric conditions.
Dr. Sanja’s postgraduate qualifications include a Diploma in Child Health from The Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, MRCPCH from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of United Kingdom, a Masters degree in Pediatric Infectious Diseases from University of Oxford and is fully registered with the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Sanja’s special interest are diagnosis, treatment and prevention of pediatric infectious diseases, recognition and treatment of tropical diseases, insect bite diseases or rare parasite related diseases. Dr. Sanja provides infectious diseases-related advice during pregnancy and neonatal screening after delivery.
During her postgraduate studies at Oxford University she published doctor’s dissertations on prevention of infectious diseases, namely invasive pneumococcal diseases and herpes zoster virus infections.
Dr. Sanja first worked at the Dubai Hospital, followed by 11 years at Al Wasl Children’s Hospital, where she managed a range of pediatric patients, in Outpatient clinics and Inpatients. Dr. Sanja was also part of the Accident and Emergency team at Al Wasl Hospital, where she was given in 2006 the Employee of the Year Award.
During her time at Al Wasl Hospital. Dr. Sanja worked in the bronchial asthma clinic, alongside visiting consultants, gaining valuable experience in treating various respiratory conditions asthma, eczema, and allergies.
She is a member of the European Society of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
Dr. Shola Faniran graduated from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria before relocating to Australia. She obtained a PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney Australia in 1998.
The focus of Dr Shola’s PhD was childhood asthma. After her PhD, Dr Shola went on to complete her pediatric training at the Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney. She completed her subspeciality training in Child development and behavior and child protection. Dr Shola is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Pediatrics and Child Health).
Dr Shola has over 20 years experience in pediatrics with the last 10 years focused mainly on developmental and behavioural pediatrics.
She has published widely in refereed international journals and presented several conference papers in child health and development. She currently produces a monthly digest of selected key articles from the medical literature about child health and developmental-behavioural disorders, compiled for educators, school health workers and medical practitioners in the UAE. She is a visiting Research Fellow at the Middlesex University, Dubai, and is involved in child development research.
Dr Shola currently consults in general and developmental pediatrics at the Children’s Medical Centre.
Dr. Simone Battibugli completed her orthopedic training at the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2001. In 2003 she completed her Pediatric Orthopedic fellowship at the Federal University of Sao Paulo, followed by two consecutive Pediatric Orthopedic fellowship programs at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Lexington, USA.
She was appointed in 2006 as a faculty member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Department at the Federal University of Sao Paulo responsible for the Pediatric Foot and Musculoskeletal infection divisions, where she developed a comprehensive clinical and research experience.
In June 2013 Dr. Battibugli relocated to Dubai, joining Medcare Orthopedics and Spine Hospital (MOSH) as a full time Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon.
Dr. Battibugli’s expertise and experience focuses on specialized and broad management of pediatric orthopedic conditions including congenital foot, lower limb deformities and other congenital and acquired musculoskeletal pathologies in children. She has a special interest in neuromuscular diseases affecting the immature musculoskeletal system, among these are Cerebral Palsy, Myelomeningocele, Spina Bifida and Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita.
Dr Battibugli is committed to providing the highest quality care to patients and their families in an evidence based and compassionate and child friendly approach.
Dr. Edilson Forlin graduated as a Physician from the Federal University of Parana Brazil in 1984. He did his residency at Clinicas Hospital of UFPR that followed a 2-year fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics at Pequeno Principe Hospital, the largest pediatric Hospital in Brazil. He also did a fellowship at the Alfred I DuPont Institute in Delaware and the Children Medical Center in Seattle USA.
He joined the Pequeno Principe Hospital as pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon and instructor for residency and fellowship program. He obtained a Master Degree and Ph.D. at the University of Sao Paulo. He was approved as Professor of the Orthopedics at the Federal University of Parana.
In the last five years he participated in more than 120 conferences, presentations, round tables and reports. He done 25 original papers and 22 chapters published (including: The Secret’s on Pediatric Orthopedics and Pediatric Spine: Principles and Practice). He is a member of the Editorial Board for Journals of Pediatric Orthopedics and Journal of Children Orthopedic, consultant of the Journal of the Argentine Association of Orthopedics, Faculty of F1000 Prime since September 2007 and former co-editor of the Brazilian Pediatric Orthopedic Journal. He visited many orthopedic centers worldwide: Iowa University, Harvard Boston Children Hospital, Atlanta Scottish Rite and University of Montreal.
He took part in many scientific orthopedic organizations and served as President of Brazilian Pediatric Orthopedic Society (2005-2006) and as a Honorary member of Argentina Society of Pediatric and Trauma Orthopedics (SAOTI), Child Orthopedic and Trauma Society (SCHOT),Colombian Pediatric Orthopedic Society (SOCOIN) and former member of Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA).
Dr. Edilson has extensive expertise in conservative and surgical assessment and treating a wide variety of orthopedic and traumatic conditions in children and adolescents, including congenital clubfoot, cerebral palsy, lower limbs deformities, hip dysplasia and developmental conditions of the spine and limb.
Dr. Sasa Janjanin graduated from Zagreb University School of Medicine in Croatia and further specialized in ENT, Head and Neck Surgery at Zagreb University Hospital Centre.
Dr. Sasa also completed advanced surgical training and obtained a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, prior to spending periods of time practicing in some of the best centres in both the USA and Germany.
As a Fulbright fellow he performed research in adult stem cells, tissue engineering and nanomaterials at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA, and his scientific results eventually resulted in him obtaining M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical sciences.
Dr. Sasa Janjanin has written more than 30 articles published in international peer-reviewed medical journals and received several international prestigious awards for his research and advancement of clinical science.
Prior to coming to Dubai in 2011 he was a Faculty member at the European University where he taught ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery to students and residents.
His major expertise is in children’s ENT disorders, facial plastic surgery, sinus and snoring disorders, ear piercing, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, and surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, having performed over 500 surgical procedures a year. He is also certified in neck and thyroid ultrasound. In Dubai, he holds surgical privileges at the City Hospital and Dubai London Clinic.
Dr. Qasem has been an Ophthalmologist for more than 17 years. He specialises in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Vitreo Retinal Surgery.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow and the United Kingdom. He holds the European Board of Ophthalmology and is registered with the Irish and British Medical Council.
He has completed, in addition to the full training programme in General Ophthalmic Surgery in Ireland, sub-speciality fellowship in Pediatric ophthalmology, retina and vitreous surgery and refractive Ophthalmology.
Dr. Qasem most recently worked as a Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, UK. Previously he held positions at several prestigious hospitals, The Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital Dublin, Waterford Regional Hospital, and as a Consultant at Dublin’s Mater Misericordiae Hospital and the Children’s University Hospital, Ireland.
He was a lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland between 2000 and 2002.
He is well published in his field and presented on numerous occasions at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Congress. Dr. Qasem also is a reviewer for the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wasfi Jaouni studied medicine in Egypt before moving to the UK to complete his surgical training. After a number of years in the UK he moved to Dubai working in both government and private facilities. He was a previous Head of Pediatric Surgery at Al Wasl Hospital in Dubai (now known as Latifa Hospital).
Dr Jaouni is a member of both the British and Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons and is a Past President of the Emirates Pediatric Surgery Society and Past Vice-President of the Arab Association of Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Jaouni is a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon and Urologist with particular expertise in hernia repairs, hypospadias, undescended testes and varicoceles.
Dr. Mohamed Helaly graduated in Medicine from Cairo University in Egypt.
He is a fellow of The Royal College of Radiologists in London, UK and a fellow of the Faculty of Radiology of The Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland.
Dr. Helaly has practiced Radiology in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UK, Ireland, Canada, and the UAE.
He has a wide range of experience including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, X Ray, Mammogram and imaging guided interventional procedures.
He is a member of the European Society of Radiology (ESR).
Dr. Helaly was the training supervisor for radiology at the military hospital and eastern province in Saudi Arabia and he was a member of the radiology committee of the Saudi Council for Medical Specialities.
Dr. Helaly was also the leading Radiologist at the Military Hospital in Saudi Arabia and at the American Hospital in Dubai.
Since qualifying in 2003, Eva has worked in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and UK in the National Health and Education Service as well as in private practice. Over the period of 13 years practicing pediatric physiotherapy she has gained extensive experience in treating children with orthopedic, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
Eva’s therapeutic approach involves variety of evidence-based techniques and methods. She has a particular expertise in the assessment and early intervention of infants, prematurely born babies and children at risk of developing neurological dysfunctions. In addition, she has extensive knowledge and a professional passion for treatment of children and adolescents with scoliosis and other spinal deformities.
Eva is a Registered/Licensed Physiotherapist with DHA, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK and the Ministry of Health in the Czech Republic.
Kate graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. Kate has undertaken a wide variety of post graduate training including Bobath Therapy at the Bobath Centre in London, and the Bayley III developmental Assessment Tool.
On qualifying in 2002, Kate worked in the National Health Service in the UK. She specialised in Paediatrics in 2004 gaining experience in outpatients, special needs schools, on the acute wards and NICU. Kate moved to the UAE in 2010 and has worked in a large hospital in Dubai including NICU and outpatients as well as a children’s medical center, working as part of a child centred multidisciplinary team. She has varied experience of working with children with neurological, orthopedic and respiratory problems.
Kate has a special interest in early intervention of infants, prematurely born babies and children with cerebral palsy. She has training in the Bayley III developmental assessment which helps to identify and guide treatment of developmental delays in children from 1 to 42 months.
Kate is committed to evidence based practice and continues to expand her training and knowledge base. She has attended post graduate training in Bobath therapy (NDT), gait analysis, postural care and seating, Clinical Pilates, Kinesiotaping, and continued updates on neurological and orthopedic management.
Kate is a Registered/Licensed Physiotherapist with the DHA, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (UK).
Daniela graduated from PUC-PR (Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana) Curitiba, Brazil. After graduating, Daniela undertook a specialist training in cardiorespiratory and wide variety of post graduate training including, the Lacy Assessment of Premature Infant, Test of Infant Motor Performance and the Schroth Best practised programme.
On qualifying in 1998, Daniela worked in a large Hospital in Curitiba Brazil while she specialized in cardiorespiratory gaining experience in outpatients, acute wards and NICU. Daniela moved to the UK in 2000 and has worked at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge including paediatric ICU and as a Senior Physiotherapist at Papworth Hospital, working as part of the Rehabilitation Team at the Medical Unit and with post-transplant patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. She has varied experience of working with children with cardiac and respiratory problems. Daniela moved to the UAE in 2008, prior to working at TCMC she worked at Latifa Hospital and Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, where she offered treatment in Paediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU and outpatient clinic for follow up assessment of preterm babies as part of a multidisciplinary clinic.
Daniela has a special interest in early intervention of infants and prematurely born babies. She has training in the Test of Motor Infant Performance and Alberta assessment which helps to identify and guide treatment of developmental delays in children from 1 to 18 months.
Daniela is a Schroth Certified Therapist with experience on the treatment of scoliosis and other spinal deformities. Daniela is committed to evidence based practice and continues to expand her training and knowledge base in neurological and orthopedic management. Daniela is a Registered/Licensed Physiotherapist with the DHA and with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK.
Nicola graduated in Physiotherapy from The University of Essex in the UK in 2007. Prior to this she completed a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science which gave her an in-depth knowledge of biomechanics, physiology and the effects of exercise. Since becoming a physiotherapist, Nicola has undertaken a wide variety of pediatric specialist post graduate training, including, The Schroth Best practice course for treatment of Scoliosis, and advanced Musculoskeletal paediatric physiotherapy Masters module at UCL in London.
After qualifying in 2007, Nicola worked in the National Health Service and in private practice in the UK. She worked across hospitals and clinics, gaining experience in outpatient clinics, community working, and wards. Her roles included the neonatal follow up clinic, and running the Rheumatology, Cystic Fibrosis, Ponseti and Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) physiotherapy services.
Nicola moved to the UAE in 2013 and has worked in a large hospital in Dubai which included working in an outpatient clinic, but also inpatient work including Orthopedics, NICU and PICU. This involved working as part of a child centred multidisciplinary team.
Nicola has a special interest in Orthopedics and conditions affecting the growing child or athlete which includes Scoliosis. She has gained advanced training in these areas in 2017 in London and the UAE. Nicola has also had many years experience with developmental conditions and early intervention in full and pre-term infants.
Nicola is committed to evidence-based practice and continues to expand her training and knowledge by attending regular post graduate training in Orthopedics, Neurodisabilities, and developmental physiotherapy.
Nicola is a Registered/Licensed Physiotherapist with the DHA, Emirates Medical Association(EMA) Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (UK).
Lauren graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. Since qualifying in 2010, Lauren worked in South Africa for two years before moving to Australia where she worked in several private hospitals and clinics.
Lauren has a special interest in assessment and treatment of children with upper limb conditions. She has worked closely with pediatric orthopedic and hand surgeons to ensure the best possible outcomes for children with hand and upper limb conditions.
In addition to her experience with upper limb conditions, Lauren is also able to work with children with learning disabilities including but not limited to; Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delays, Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD and ADHD), Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. In addition she can provide therapy to blind children and those with hearing disabilities.
Lauren is a licensed Occupational Therapist with the DHA and the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as well as an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA).
Pegah graduated from Middlesex University, London, UK in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in Health Psychology, with a strong focus on psychological influences on health, well-being and illness. Pegah is a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) as certified by the Behaviour Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Pegah is a native Farsi speaker, fluent in English and conversational Arabic and Urdu.
Pegah has been working for over 8 years as an RBT Therapist in Dubai. She has provided ABA therapy to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, school settings, and community.
Pegah’s expertise includes implementation of behaviour plans, to address a range of behavioural concerns/excesses and implementation of individualized academic plans. Pegah is currently working towards international certification in ABA.
Pegah is interested in playing a more active role in the development of education policies and working opportunities in the community for children with Autism and/or developmental disabilities.
Elise graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in Psychology. Elise has since completed several courses in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) through the Florida Institute of Technology. Elise is a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) as certified by the Behaviour Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
Elise has worked in the field of ABA for over 6 years, under supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). During this time, Elise interned at the New England Centre for Children, Abu Dhabi where she worked with children using teaching strategies based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis.
Elise has a passion for working with children of all ages and abilities, and finds her work to be highly motivating.
Anna (Anne) graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Anne is a qualified teacher with over 10 years’ experience working with children of all ages and abilities. Anne is currently working towards international certification in ABA.
Anne is a highly motivated and diligent teacher who has dedicated her life to working with children with special needs in order to help develop their skills and independence, and to ensure they reach their full potential. Anne works from her heart and has a remarkable eye for identifying ways to motivate and encourage the children she works with.
Lethycia (Letty) graduated from Liberty University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Letty has over 5 years’ experience working with children of all abilities, in a range of different settings. Letty is a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) as certified by the Behaviour Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
Letty is an incredibly energetic and enthusiastic ABA tutor, who goes above and beyond to ensure every child reaches their full potential while enjoying every moment of their time with her.
Born and raised in Brazil, Andreia Capdeville graduated in Speech and Language Therapy in 2000 from Universidade Católica of Pernambuco and she is currently a registered therapist with the Conselho Regional de Fonoaudiologia in São Paulo, Brazil. Shortly after graduating, she moved to the US to develop her career where she worked for 7 years completing her special training in Orofacial Myology from the IAOM (International Association of Orofacial Myology). In 2015, with more than 16 years of experience, she relocated to Dubai and she is currently providing speech therapy for children with a wide range of communication and learning disorders and difficulties such as:
Andreia holds several certifications including Talk Tools (Oral Placement Therapy that uses a hierarchical based approach to improve speech clarity and feeding skills in individuals of all ages and across diagnoses), Makaton (Language Program using signs and symbols to help people to communicate).
Additionally, she is also certified in Hanen (Evidence-based and reputable program that shows how to use a natural, day-to-day life with the child to help with language skills development) and PROMPT (Tactile-kinesthetic approach that uses touch cues to a patient’s articulators to manually guide them through a targeted word, phrase or sentence).
She recently attended the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS™-2) course to fulfill her passion to work closely with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Laetitia graduated with Masters degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She also has an Inter-University degree in dysphagia from the University of Toulouse, France. She is currently specializing in Osteovox (manual therapy suitable for speech, voice and swallowing therapies) in Lyon, France.
After working in both private and hospital sectors in Switzerland, Laetitia moved to Dubai in 2016. Laetitia has been providing speech therapy for adults and children with feeding and swallowing disorders and a wide range of communication disorders, language difficulties, and learning disorders such as the following:
Laetitia has had special training in swallowing and feeding disorders in children.
She is a registered therapist with the “Association Romande des Logopédistes Diplômés (ARLD)”, Switzerland.
Coralie graduated with Bachelor degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the High School of Mons, Belgium. She also has a bachelor degree in education and rehabilitation of hearing and visual impairment from the High School of Li è ge, Belgium.
After working in special needs school in Belgium, Coralie moved to Dubai in 2012. Coralie has been providing speech therapy for children with a wide range of communication disorders, language difficulties, and learning disorders such as the following:
Coralie has had special training in swallowing disorders and stuttering (she has followed the Lidcombe training). She is also trained in logic and math remediation.
Helene graduated with Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louvain, in Belgium. Her masters had a strong focus on education and developmental psychology. She also has a post graduate university degree in neuropsychopathology of learning disorders from Lyon University, France.
After working four years in a private practice in Brussels (Belgium), Helene moved to Dubai in 2017. Dr. Christiana Savvidou graduated in medicine from the University of Athens, Greece. She completed her Orthopedic residency in University of Athens, Greece, followed by a fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at University of Tampere, Finland and by a fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at Christine M. Kleinert Institute – University of Louisville in Kentucky, USA. Dr Christiana served as a Hand and Upper Extremity Orthopedic Surgeon in Cyprus and USA.
In 2014 Dr. Christiana moved to Dubai where she has continued to practice as a Hand and Upper Extremity orthopedic Surgeon.
Dr. Christiana offers both surgical and non-surgical treatments for a wide range of hand and upper extremity bone and joint conditions in children. Her clinical interests include children with musculoskeletal deficiencies including congenital and acquired upper limb deformities. Other areas of expertise include cerebral palsy and other soft tissue hand abnormalities.
Dr. Christiana is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and a member of the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS). She has authored and co-authored numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and a regular speaker at international meetings worldwide. She participated in several research projects including the Hand Transplantation Program at University of Louisville, USA.
Dr. Christiana has been a member of surgical missions to Gaza, under the auspice of The Little Wings Foundation, a UK registered charity.
Flavia joined The Children’s Medical Centre in 2019 as an experienced therapist. Since completing the Occupational Therapy Program at the University Of Medical Science of Minas Gerais in 2005, she has focused on increasing her skills by attending continuing education courses on topics including dyspraxia, modulation, posture, and special education needs. She is Sensory Integration certified and has completed the Therapeutic Listening and Interactive Metronome training programs. At the moment, she is doing a post-graduation course on special needs education by the Anglia Ruskin University in UK. Before joining The Children’s Medical Centre, she worked in a variety of settings including home care, schools and private clinics. She enjoys working closely with her clients and their families, empowering them through education, and supporting family relationships.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Mary Tiamsim earned a BSc. degree in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Santo Tomas in 2016. During her 5th year in college, she underwent one-month international training in Seton Hall University in New Jersey, U.S.A. Mary Tiamsim has a 2 years of work experience as a speech therapist in the Philippines providing assessment and intervention for both pediatric and adult clients across various settings like private centre, school and hospital having communication and learning disorders such as:
Back in the Philippines, Mary has conducted seminars for the parents, teachers and primary caregivers about different language stimulation techniques to be used at home in order to build a more language-rich environment. She has attended seminars related to Hanen Program (talk about promoting language in group setting) and with CreateCATT: Developmental Play Level 1 (training about ways to incorporate different types of play across the lifespan).
Currently, Mary Tiamsim is pursuing her ABA training with the Florida Institute of Technology.
Mira moved to the UAE from the USA with a Bachelor’s of Science in
Psychology, and Minor in Global and International studies from the
University of Houston in Texas. She is a native Arabic speaker originally
from Amman, Jordan.
Mira worked in several different fields related to children. One of which
was Child help for the abused and neglected children in Phoenix, Arizona.
Furthermore, she spent the rest of her university days working in different
research labs related to social and behavioural health sciences. Upon
graduation, she worked in the Houston Independent School District mainly
working on assignments for special needs classrooms in Elementary,
Middle and High school.
Finally, Mira landed in the field of ABA, and acquired her RBT license by
the Behaviour Analysis Certification Board, and was trained directly under
professionals (BCBA, BCBA-D) in the USA. She has been operating in
the field of ABA since 2016.
Currently, Mira is undergoing her master’s degree in the foundations of
Behaviour Analysis at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio (distant
learning) to become a Board Certified Behavioural Analyst.
Mira wholeheartedly aims to dedicate all of her time and energy to ensure
that the children advance by bringing out their full potential through every
aspect of learning. Her expertise is focused around skill acquisition
training, natural environmental training, conducting assessments, socials
skills, life skills, and behaviour modification.
Peter has graduated in 2002 and continued to acquire his experience in a private and national health services since. Peter’s eclectic approach combines reliable and efficient treatment algorithms from an evidence-based concepts including manual therapy,neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental re-education, dry needling and kinesiotaping.Throughout his career, Peter has been working with both adults and children.Based on his postgraduate training and experience, Peter specializes in treatment of following conditions:
