Mona Hussain's Biography

Mona graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Widener University (USA) in 2003 and Bachelors in Neurobiology and Psychology from Bryn Mawr College (USA.) Mona also completed a certification degree in Special Education (USA).

In addition, Mona has completed additional training courses in Neuro Developmental Bobath Facilitation Techniques (NDT), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) techniques, Sensory Integration Therapy (SIT) and is certified in Pediatric Kinesiotaping Methods. She also has experience working with Schroth Therapy for Scoliosis, Orthopaedic conditions and Post operative Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.

Mona has worked with a diverse pediatric population and has a special interest in children with Torticollis, Neuromuscular Diseases and Congenital Conditions resulting in gross motor delay, low tone and sensory integration deficits.

Mona has been working at The Children’s Medical Centre since April 2015. Prior to TCMC, she has lived and worked in Hong Kong providing Pediatric Gross Motor Evaluations for Gross Motor Delays in infants and toddlers, Baby Clinic Assessments, and providing Orthotic and Wheelchair prescriptions and consultations. In the United States of America, Mona has worked as a certified Pediatric Physical Therapist for the New York Department of Education and Early Intervention Services with the Department of Health of New York City and in has had her own Private Practice.

Mona is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and holds a license to practice physiotherapy in the State of New York & New Jersey (USA.) Mona also holds license privileges to practice physiotherapy in Hong Kong.

Mona currently lives with her husband and daughter in Dubai and enjoys practicing yoga and travelling.
