Eva Zakopcanova's Biography

Eva graduated with a Diploma in Physiotherapy and Bachelor in Physiotherapy from Slovakia and she is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Sheffield Hallam University UK. In addition to her academic education in physiotherapy, Eva is a certified therapist of Neurodevelopmental Bobath Treatment, Vojta therapy (Reflex locomotion) and she continues to further her skills by completing postgraduate courses in manual therapy and other neurodevelopmental concepts.

Since qualifying in 2003, Eva has worked in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and UK in the National Health and Education Service as well as in Private Practice. Over the period of 12 years practicing pediatric physiotherapy she has gained extensive experience in treating children with orthopaedic, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.

Eva has a particular expertise in the assessment and early intervention of infants, prematurely born babies and children at risk of developing neurological dysfunctions. She also uses Prechtl’s assessment of general movements as a valuable diagnostic tool in infancy.

Eva’s therapeutic approach involves variety of evidence-based techniques and methods including Manual therapy concepts (Mulligan concept, Myofascial release, Dry needling, Spinal and Thoracic manipulation), NDT Bobath , Vojta therapy, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization concept (DNS), SET (Redcord), Schroth and Klapp concepts, Medical taping and Electrotherapy.

Eva is a Registered/Licensed Physiotherapist with DHA, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK and the Ministry of Health in the Czech Republic.
