Keira Banim's Biography

Keira graduated with Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Limerick, Ireland. Keira provides specialist assessment and intervention to children and adolescents with visual impairment and other disabilities such as; autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, Down syndrome etc. Keira has experience introducing and working with a variety of augmentative alternative communication (AAC) approaches Some forms of AAC that Keira has previously worked with include; Canaan Barrie “on body” Sign System, Lamh, Makaton, American Sign Language, objects of reference, switches, choice boards, PECS, and eye gaze technology.

Keira moved to Dubai in 2017 and has been providing speech therapy to children with feeding and swallowing disorders as well as children with a wide range of communication disorders, language difficulties, and learning disorders such as the following:

  • Eating, drinking and swallowing disorders
  • Speech and Language delays
  • Articulation difficulties
  • Voice disorders
  • Auditory processing disorder
  • Early communication delay
  • Fluency disorders
